John Orfe, composer and pianist, has received commissions for Duo Montagnard, Dez Cordas, NOVUS Trombone Quartet, Ludovico, the Music Institute of Chicago, the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, the Diocese of Peoria, and the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He is a winner of a Jacob K. Javits Fellowship, a Tanglewood Fellowship, the William Schuman and Boudleaux Bryant Prizes from BMI, and eleven Standard Awards and the Morton Gould Award from ASCAP.
